Langley Mill
Eastern extension of Heanor on the west bank
of the Erewash, with D H Lawrence’s Eastwood
on the other side. Very heavily industrialised, but
civilised with it, benefitting from reopened
railway station.

much difference. Much enlarged canal-side
local set back from main road, brimming
with bric-a-brac and atmosphere, though
unique character of former family room now
lost. Children allowed in if dining.
